DAVID VENTO

Multidisciplinary artist, director and choreographer

David is a multidisciplinary artist, director and choreographer who focuses his work on dance, physical theater and circus arts.

He began his dance career as Break Dancer in his hometown, Salamanca. Breaking led him to compete at the highest level all around the world. This language of urban dance inspires the common language in all of his creations. Also he handles the circus element of Cyr Wheel with virtuosity.

In his development as a visual artist and stage director, David's career has been influenced by various languages and experiences.

He joined the Circle Of Trust urban dance company in 2004 and began working with Cirque du Soleil in 2008, which was a major leap in his career that led him to explore new artistic areas.

Nowadays, David regularly works on large opera productions at the Teatro Real under the direction of acclaimed directors such as Romeo Castellucci, Claus Guth, Hugo de Ana, Déborah Warner, and Robert Wilson, with whom he has been collaborating since 2016. He is part of the opera Turandot, directed by Wilson, currently on a world tour, where he plays the role of the Prince of Persia and other characters in this grand production. David also participated in the Watermill Summer Program: A Laboratory for Performance, in New York, under the artistic direction of Bob Wilson, where he was part of the Staging Workshop for Turandot.

In the sports and cultural realm of Breaking, it's worth highlighting that David Vento performs an important role through La Unidad Breaking Club, thanks to his extensive experience as a promoter of national and international events. He founded the first Municipal Breaking School in Parla (Madrid) and is part of the Breaking Commission of the FEBD and the Technical Direction of the national Breaking team in Spain.
